Funeral Service Process

The family is to inform the Congregation treasurer about the passing of a Congregation member. The treasurer will send the family a form to fill out about the passing member and ask for it to be returned after completion. If the pastor has not been informed already, the treasurer will inform the pastor about the passing of the member.

The requested form asks the following information: Name and Surname, Date of birth, Date of passing, Place of passing; whether the deceased was a current member of the Congregation and if  under 95 years of age whether they have paid their annual membership within the last three years; whether the deceased will be cremated or buried; whether the deceased would like a church service or a service in a different location; the name of the pastor or celebrant they would like to conduct the funeral.

The Congregation treasurer will then send the family an invoice based on the information received.

Note: If the family wishes to hold a funeral at The Church of the Holy Cross, the family is to take responsibility for setting up for the wake, providing food and drinks and for cleaning the church at after the funeral.
